Bruins’ Yury Alexandrov to join SKA St. Petersburg
Yury Alexandrov, the Russian defender of the Boston Bruins’ farm club, Providence Bruins, is expected to sign a contract today with the KHL club SKA St. Petersburg, according to Sports Daily citing the club’s general manager Alexey Kasatonov.
Alexandrov is now in St. Petersburg, where he passes his medical examination.
«We continue to adhere to our strategy of returning young and promising Russian players from beyond the Atlantic to the KHL», Kasatonov said on the arrival of Alexandrov.
The 23-year-old player’s record during the 2010-11 season made 19 (6+13) points in 66 matches of the AHL regular championship.
Alexandrov’s contract with the Boston Bruins expires next summer.
