Yaroslavl plane crash survivor Alexander Galimov dies at Vishnevsky Institute

Lokomotiv forward Alexander Galimov, one of the two survivors of the recent Yaroslavl plane crash, died today from the fatal injuries at the burn center of the Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery.

«In the morning of September 12, despite the ongoing therapy with the use of all available up-to-date methods of treatment, Alexander Galimov died from the burns incompatible with life», the clinic’s statement reads according to RIA Novosti.

Galimov was diagnosed with numerous fractures, concussions of internal organs, burns to 90% of the body, and burns to the upper respiratory tract.

The other survivor of the plane crash, flight engineer Alexander Sizov, is still in the intensive care at the Sklifosovsky Institute. His condition is grave but stable.
