Leonardo Bonucci: I’m grateful to Zenit for their proposal but I’d like to play for Juventus

Juventus and Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci who had a chance of joining Zenit St. Petersburg yesterday but stayed in his club for the reason that the sides didn’t come to an agreement, stated that he was pleased by the interest of a champion of Russia but prefers to staying in the Turin club.

«Zenit have made me a proposal but it has always been my priority to play for Juventus. Of course, I’m pleased that I provoked interest of such a reputable club as Zenit, but everything suits me in Turin and I’d like to keep playing for Juventus.

«Last year when I just joined Juventus, this club was some kind of a new project and now in front of the new really important season it would be a pity for me to leave the team and to deprive the chance of making my contribution in it’s success.

«We want to renew the good relationships with out fans and to make them forget all the failures of the last time. I promise that I will do my best from the very first day,» official Juventus site quoted Bonucci as saying.
