Alexander Semin gives his first interview in English
Washington Capitals forward Alexander Semin gave the first interview in English in his career to the club’s press officer Mike Vogel.
«You’re one of the guys who usually come to the camp in a really good shape. Did you do anything different this summer during the training, and what did you do for fun this summer?»
«This summer was good. I went home, saw my family and my friends. This year will be tough for us and I hope we could win.
«What were your thoughts when you were sitting at home in Russia during this summer about the players that The Capitals brought in?»
«I think we brought the good players, it’s the good veterans – Tomas Vokoun, Roman Gamrlik, Jeff Halpern – I think these players will help us at the playoffs.»
«With Boyd Gordon in Phoenix now you’ve been here longer than anybody else in the team. What are your thoughts about playing for Capitals for so long?»
«I grew up here and I’d like to stay here for 10 years more. I like playing here.»
«In the media during this summer there were things said about you that were not very charming. Do you pay attention to those things at all?»
«No, I don’t worry about that. Different people have different opinions.»
«What does that mean to you to win the Stanley Cup here with these guys, in this team, in this city?»
«Washington is my second home. We are the good friends, a good team. I hope we’ll win the Stanley Cup this season,» Semin said according to the Capitals’ official website.
