CSKA Moscow coach speaks on injuries of Honda, Necid, Mark Gonzalez

CSKA Moscow head coach Leonid Slutsky spoke about the current status and recovery progress of the team’s injured players.

«[Keisuke] Honda will return from Spain, where he underwent a surgery, in a week. He will be able to return on field in a month, at best.

«[Tomas] Necid will return to Moscow in three weeks, he is also in Spain now. However, given the graveness of his injury, he will continue long-term treatment in Moscow.

«Mark Gonzalez will undergo re-surgery in the United States on October 10, his expected period of recovery is two months.

«I wouldn’t dare to predict Akinfeev’s recovery date. It would be very difficult after such a grave injury. When we sent [Viktor] Vasin to Italy, they all assured us he will play in four months, but after nine months he is still not fit,» Slutsky said to Mayak Radio.
