Russian Premier League president acquitted by the FA’s Ethics Committee
The Ethics Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFS) has held its meeting and reviewed the charges against Sergey Pryadkin who is being suspected of a conflict of interest.
A journalist’s investigation carried out by Russian daily Novaya Gazeta accused Pryadkin of illegal agency activities performed by his German-registered company. Pryadkin claims he is only the founder of the company and does not interfere into its agency activities.
The Ethic Committee decided that Pryadkin is not guilty of any misconduct: «After a comprehensive inquiry the Committee did not reveal any infringements of any provisions of the RFS Charter, RFS ethics regulations, or FIFA ethics regulations by the RFPL president Sergey Pryadkin.
«The workgroup established for this issue has collected materials which gave grounds for such this decision. I would alsp like to say that the Ethics Committee sees its objectives not only only in punishing the guilty for offences, but also in protecting the representatives of football bodies if the situation requires so,» stated Alu Alkhanov, chairman of the Ethics Committee, as quoted by the RFS official site.
