Yuri Borzakovsky: I could run faster in Belgium, but I’m not fit enough

Olympic champion Yuriy Borzakovskiy spoke about his first start of the season and about recovering from a foot injury.

«I began running in March in Kyrgyzstan. Then I moved to Kislovodsk, where began to go out on a stadium and accelerate slowly. I’ve been receiving treatment every day for six months – procedures, massage, and so on. And while it all took place there was no running at all. I’ve even put on some weight, so now I’m 82 kg. I can say that I could run faster, but still I’m not fit enough.

«The heel has recovered. Flatfoot cured. Heel pain would not let my foot work as it should. Everything is gone now, I can get involved into fast work.

«Now I’m going to have a training session in Cheboksary. Then a small start in France. Then the Diamond League in Paris. The Russian Championship is one of the main starts of the season. But my training has been calculated taking in regard the end of the season, the world championship,» said Borzakovskiy in an interview with Skirun.ru.
