Nizhny Novgorod vs Real Madrid scouting notes

The game was about the rebound and inside play. The speed came later bu it did change the picture.

KEY FACTOR: BIG GUYS

REAL MADRID has 3 big gus, quite decent help to his stars on the perimeter.

 All the big guys - Mejri, Bourousis, Reyes are really well quipped with the offensive moves and diverse atacks.

On the other Hand  Nizhny Novgorod has 2 big guys - Parakhousky, Tompkins which are not so universal and lack Euroleague experience.  Parakhousky is limited with offensive variants and not so fast in Defense. Tompkins lack power and weight.

I can't nane Semen Antonov a big player form the position point of view, i'm afrais I can't call him to be A BIG PLAYER form the game level point of view for quite a long period of time already. 

 

Shots to count:

Nizhny has fired a good load of 3 pointers - 14/27 which is 51%. As fpr Real they manage to pack only 6 out of 23, BUT their long successfull shots were very effective for the final score in the final quarter.

Quantity of quality:

Real Madrid used 11 players to bring themselves to the winning end, as for Nizhny Novgorod, they found only 8 up- to- the- level- players to keep it going for a little longer. If you look at the both rosters you should be very surprised and not every basketball specialist can imagine the real battle that we witnesses between these teams.

Overall: Nizhny Novgorod was frustrating in Defense in most moments. They probably were mistaken in couple of match ups and covering zone D.

The man:

I found Bourousis very effective having played 19.45 minutes, who finished with 5/7 from the field, 13 points and 3 rebounds. The team was eager to use him in the paint and also high on the arc playing pick& rolls. He dives quite fast and gets his position decently making himself open.
