Lauris Darzins may prefer NHL club to Ak Bars

The chairman of KHL’s Dynamo Riga Aigars Kalvitis has stated speaking to LTV-1 television channel that the club’s forward Lauris Darzins is courted by various clubs, including those from the NHL.

In 2003, the 26-year-old Latvian was already drafted by Nashville as number 268 in round 9, but the Predators did not retain their rights to him. Currently, it has been reported that Ak Bars Kazan were ready to transfer Darzins, who still has a year left on his contract with Dinamo Riga.

This season Darzins has scored 44 (21+23) points in 45 regular games in the KHL and 10 points (5+5) in 11 play-off games.
