Steven Stamkos: Malkin is an ideal hockey player

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos spoke about the odds of him winning the Hart Trophy this season and gave credit to one of his biggest rivals, Russian star Yevgeny Malkin.

«If we miss out on the play-offs, my chances of winning individual honours will be pretty low. But I am honoured to even be listed among the nominees. I’ll try to get as many points as I can before the end of the season.»

«Geno is a perfect hockey player. It’s rare to see such a balanced combination of speed, strength, vision, shooting ability and intelligence in a single player. Malkin can win a game almost single-handedly, and has done so on a number of occasions this season. He has improved immensely, especially after recovering from his knee injury.»
