Stanislav Galiev signs for Washington Capitals
Russian forward Stanislav Galiev signed a three-year beginner contract with the Washington Capitals, the club’s official site reported.
The 19-year-old Russian was drafted by the Capitals in the third round the 2010 draft under overall number 86.
Galiev spent last season at the Saint John Sea Dogs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, winning the Memorial Cup with his team. His record in the regular championship includes 37 goals and 28 assists in 64 matches. In the play-offs he scored 10 goals and made 17 assists in 19 games.
In total during his two seasons at Saint John the Russian has scored 125 (52+73) points in 131 matches.
