Vladislav Namestnikov becomes only Russian selected in first round of NHL draft

Last night in St. Paul at the home arena of Minnesota Wild the draft procedure began. On the first day the first round picking process took place.

Canadian forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who was drafted by Edmonton Oilers, became the first number, as it had been expected.

The only Russian, selected in the first round, was forward Vladislav Namestnikov who moved to Tampa Bay as 27th pick.
