SKA general manager: We stopped chasing Jaromir Jagr
General manager of SKA St. Petersburg Alexei Kasatonov has revealed that Czech forward Jaromir Jagr is not a transfer objective for the club any more.
«We have stopped trying to sign Jaromir Jagr – mostly due to the budget restrictions. After all, there is a salary cap. Besides, we have too many foreigners already – six instead of five. Jagr would become the seventh one.»
«Whom of the six foreigners you will remove from the team?»
«We will decide on this question ahead of the season start. There are various options which I cannot disclose now.»
«When did you make the decision on Jagr?»
«The most important moment was related to Thoresen. As soon as we have signed the Norwegian, the situation became more or less clear. Moreover, we are currently in talks with other players,» Kasatonov stated to Sovetsky Sport.
