Lokomotiv Moscow may be chasing Utrecht’s Dries Mertens

According to Voetbal International, Lokomotiv Moscow has joined the race for FC Utrecht attacking midfielder Dries Mertens.

Both parties were allegedly close to reaching an agreement in February but the negotiations broke down. Now Mertens’s agent is said to have contacted the former Lokomotiv management and the negotiations have resumed.

Ajax and Anderlecht have also expressed interest in the 23-year-old midfielder, who had already made his debut for the Belgium national team, but have been scared away by the compensation amount demanded by Utrecht.
