Luciano Spalletti: The match against Benfica is the most important in Zenit’s history

Zenit St. Petersburg manager Luciano Spalletti build up the pressure on his players ahead of their return leg against Benfica in the Champions League by claiming that the match is the most important in the history of the Saint-Petersburg club.

«Did you watch Benfica’s game against Porto and did you test out any tactical moves in the CSKA match?»

«It’s hard enough preparing the team for one game, let alone two at the same time. That would drive the players mad! The game against CSKA was the important since I took over the club, but the upcoming tie in Lisbon is the most important in our history,» the Italian manager insisted.

The 1/8 final second leg will take place at 19.45 GMT in Lisbon on Tuesday.
