Anzhi boss Guus Hiddink: I won’t deny – I got a very good deal

The new Anzhi Makhachkala manager and vice-president Guus Hiddink admitted his wage at the club is very good, but claimed the motives behind this move were not strictly financial.

«I can assure you that at my age money is not a priority, even though the deal I got is great. [Owner – Sports.ru] Suleyman Kerimov has done a great deal for this region, and I don’t mean just the Anzhi investments. He helps the development of Dagestan by building hospitals, for example. It would give me a great pleasure to build a strong youth academy here. Football is more than just entertainment for me,» the Dutchman told De Telegraaf.

According to reports in the press, Hiddink will be earning around €10 million a season in the Russian club.
