A Brit who worked for sports technology company Hawk-Eye has died following an accident in China.
Robin Llyr Evans, from Llanbedrog, on the Llyn Peninsula, in Gwynedd, north-west Wales, was working in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, when tragedy struck.
The nature of the accident is unknown at present but Mr Evans had worked as a systems operator for Hawk-Eye Innovations with the Wuhan Tennis open.
A Foreign & Commonwealth Office spokeswoman told the Daily Post : "We can confirm the death of a British national in Wuhan, China.
"We are in contact with local authorities and the individual's employer, who is supporting the family at this time."
Mr Evans was a former youth team captain of Pwllheli Rugby Club.
The club was informed of his death on Friday.
A club spokesman said: "The club were shocked and saddened to be told of the passing of ex-youth Captain Robin Llyr Evans in an accident while working in China.
"Robin had a bright future in front of him and words truly cannot express the sympathy we feel for his parents, family and friends.
"It is impossible to understand what they must be going through.
"So so sad."
The club added on Twitter yesterday: "Our truly sincere condolences are extended to Robin Evan's family and friends following the tragic accident which took his life.
"The sad loss of such a bright , pleasant and talented young man has shocked the community who have been told of Robin's death yesterday."

Как сообщает британское издание Mirror, компьютерный эксперт из Великобритании Робин Ллир Эванс погиб в результате загадочного инцидента в Китае, и вся бригада, обслуживающая эту систему, приняла решение отказаться от обслуживания турнира.
