Ignashevich became highest scoring defender in Russian football history

CSKA defender Sergey Ignashevich is now the most high-scoring defender in the history of the Russian football, according the his personal website.

His last goal in the Russian Cup quaterfinal against Zenit (2:0) has become 46th in Ignashevich’s career. The previous record (45 goals) has been held by former Lokomotiv Moscow player Igor Chugaynov.
