CSKA midfielder Honda’s Lazio transfer collapses

CSKA’s Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda will not be joining Italian side Lazio this winter after the negotiations between two clubs ended in stalemate.

Russian paper Sport-Express, citing a source close to the negotiations, claims Lazio’s offer was not deemed good enough by the Moscow club’s owners and there is minimal chance of anything happening before the deadline.

This was later confirmed by Lazio sporting director Igli Tare. «CSKA did not accept our proposal, which was improved two or three times. We have taken note of their decision. The distance was between supply and demand, not the mode of payment,» Tare said as quoted by Football Italia.
