Anzhi dismiss Madrid’s Carvalho transfer reports

Anzhi Makhachkala released an official statement denying reports of their alleged transfer bid to sign Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho.

«Carvalho is a good footballer, but we never held talks about his possible transfer to our club,» the club’s official Twitter page claims.

The reports suggested the Dagestani outfit was willing to offer the Portuguese center back an annual salary of €5 million. The Russian outfit eventually signed Blackburn’s Christopher Samba, who plays in the same position.
