Islanders acquire Russian Yury Alexandrov from the Bruins
The Boston Bruins have traded defenseman Yury Alexandrov to the New York Islanders for future considerations.
Alexandrov, a 2006 second-round pick of the Bruins, had 19 points in 66 games with the Bruins’ affiliate club last season, his first in North America.
However, Alexandrov opted to play in his native Russia this season. He earned 6 points in 37 games split between SKA St. Petersburg and Avangard Omsk.
In six playoff games with Omsk, the 24-year-old has a goal and four assists.
