CSKA Moscow get new wealthy sponsors after turning to Putin for help
Not only CSKA Moscow will escape bankruptcy, but also will get a much more stable source of funding. Last week the financially troubled club wrote a letter to Russia’s prime minister Vladimir Putin asking for a new sponsor able to fund them appropriately and pay their grown debt. Now it was announced that the problem had been solved and the name of the new co-owner should be announced one of these days.
«There is a decision that CSKA will have one more owner. It is a major company, whose name I won’t reveal now. The objective is to completely revive the club in two years’ time.
«We will also construct a new arena. When? It will depend a lot on its capacity: we want it to be quite roomy. The arena will most likely be situated in the central part of Moscow,» CSKA president Vyacheslav Fetisov said as quoted by Sport-Express.
According to earlier unofficial reports, the club’s future owner is Rosneft, the nation’s biggest oil company.
