Zenit coach Spalletti hints at Arsenal’s losing mentality
Zenit St. Petersburg Italian manager Luciano Spalletti took an unexpected swipe at English Premier League club Arsenal, who recently released Andrey Arshavin on loan to the Saint-Petersburg outfit.
Commenting on the motives behind Arshavin’s move, Spalletti made a rather sudden and somewhat bemusing jibe at he London club:
«I think that Andrei is coming here and facing a harder situation and tasks than he had at Arsenal. We only want to win, but I don’t know what they want to do at Arsenal,» the Zenit boss was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
«Someone born in Petersburg is very proud of his city and everything associated with it. ... Therefore for [Arshavin] it will be extraordinarily important not to disgrace himself and to help our team,» he added.
