Zenit pounce on former Bolton ace Johan Elmander

Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg set their sights on ex-Bolton Swedish forward Johan Elmander, who currently plays his football in Turkish club Galatasaray.

According to the Turkish newspaper Vatan, the negotiations hit a dead-end after Galatasaray asked the Russian champions to increase their €6million offer to 15 million. There is a chance that the talks will be renewed at the end of the current season.

The 30-year-old Swede played in 24 top-flight games this season, finding the net on 9 occasions and providing 4 assists.
