Roberto Carlos will donate part of his salary to charity

Anzhi captain Roberto Carlos said he is going to regularly donate a share of his salary to a Russian charitable foundation called «Podari zhizn!» (which means «Give life!» in Russian).

Anzhi has been co-operating with the fund since the beginning of this season. The players enter the field in T-shirts with its logo and the club also transfers to the fund the money earned from ticket sales. From now on the players will donate a certain percent of the bonus payments received by the team to this fund, which helps cure children with critical illnesses. In addition to that, Roberto Carlos has declared his desire to also transfer a part of his salary to the fund.

«It is a great honour for me to take part in this project. In Brazil I have been helping children for 13 years. I try to provide hospitals with up-to-date equipment for the newborns with certain problems. I am happy to be engaged in a similar project in Russia and would like to thank the owner of our club, Suleiman Kerimov. I will also regularly transfer a part of my salary to the fund’s account. I feel myself extremely excited when I have an opportunity to help those children with anything,» Roberto Carlos stated according to RIA Novosti.
