Danko Lazovic: I would play at Zenit until the end of my career

Zenit St. Petersburg forward Danko Lazovic has commented on his leadership among the top goalscorers in the Premier League. He also told the journalists about the fight for the title and his intention to quit his career in Serbian national team.

«I’ve never in the first place of any top goalscorers list until now, so I’m still not accustomed to this role. Of course, I am aware of the fact that we have only played six games and I will face more competition soon. Therefore, I do not want to draw much attention to my person. It is more important for me how Zenit will perform in the championship. Though, to be quite honest, I would love to be the top scorer until the and of the season.

«We have an excellent team that should be satisfied only with the champions’ title. I think our main rival in CSKA Moscow. And those who will win this battle will become champions.»

«You speak about Zenit only in a very positive way. Are you ready to confirm the intention to play here until the end of your career?»

«Yes, I am. I really feel very comfortable both in the club and in Russia in general. The attitude to me is beyond any praise. Russia and Serbia have the same faith and a very similar mentality. I really like everything here.»

«So much that you gave up your career in the national team in order to concentrate on the club matters a month ago?»

«I would not comment on that. I’m still not ready to talk about that neither with the Serbian, nor with the Russian media. But I really intend to quit my career in the national team», said Lazovic as quoted by Sport-Express.
