Maradona, Figo, Barthez, and other football stars set to take part in Grozny stadium opening ceremony
On May 11, the team of world football stars will arrive to Grozny for the opening ceremony of the new stadium named after Akhmat-Hadzhi Kadyrov. These will include Diego Maradona, Alain Boghossian, Franco Baresi, Alessandro Costacurta, Luis Figo, Manuel Amoros, Roberto Ayala, Robbie Fowler, Enzo Francescoli, Steve McManaman, Jean-Pierre Papin, Christian Vieri, Ivan Zamorano, and Fabien Barthez.
According to the official website of the Government of the Chechen Republic, the team’s opponents will be well-known Russian players and Ramzan Kadyrov, President of Chechnya.
The capacity of the new stadium will be 30,000 seats.
