Today FIFA published their updated ranking of national teams. Russia went down one place and now takes 18th place, according to the organisation’s official website.
The highest place in the ranking still is still occupied by Spain. The most prominent improvement was made by Uruguay who jumped up from 18th to 5th after their victory at Copa America.
The new FIFA ranking looks as follows:

4 (5). Brazil – 1202
5 (18). Uruguay – 1156
6 (4). England – 1146
7 (7). Portugal – 1076

10 (10) Argentina – 1013

It’s worth noting that this ranking will define the contents of the ‘seeding pots’ for the draw of the 2014 World Cup European qualification. The draw will be held on Saturday.
