Kramnik, Grischuk, and Kamsky will take part in World Chess Championship candidates’ tournament in Kazan

On May 4, Kazan will host the opening ceremony of the tournament of candidates for the right to challenge the current chess world champion Viswanathan Anand, according to Chess-News.ru.

The tournament will be organized as a play-off with quaterfinal games to be played on May 5.

Quaterfinal pairs of the candidates’ tournament 2011:

Levon Aronyan (Armenia) – Alexander Grischuk (Russia)

Boris Gelfand (Israel) – Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan)

Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) – Teimour Radzhabov (Azerbaijan)

Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) – Gata Kamsky (USA)
