Отличный блог!

I see you but KHL take clubs which did not meet these conditions. Look at
1) Lev Poprad - no real money, no real club, no real fans
2) Lev Praha - no real money (in May 2012), no real club, no real fans
3) Slovan - no real money (10 mil euro is not enough), real club and real fans (but KHL haters, you could not meet much KHL haters in May 2012 in Slovakia than Slovan´s fans)
Why did KHL accepted these clubs? Why not to accept Vladivostok?

Maybe dont have now, but will have in future. What can not be said about Lada, Khimik. Slovan does not have money as well and is in league. It is matter of time when Slovan has to increase budget over 20 mil euro. How does Slovan wanna do it?

I would like to see KHL like this:
15-20 russian clubs in big cities, 10-15 euro clubs from Sweden/Finland/Germany/Czech rep/Slovakia/Switzerland. But, reality is another. Europe does not have money and will to join (especially Swedes/Suiss).
As I see near future - Three (Zagreb, Milan and Finns) clubs will join KHL in next 2-3 yrs, it will be 30 teams, then KHL will concentrate to russian teams (relocations to other cities, drop to VHL). Minimum capacity will increase, minimal budget will raise to 25-30 mil euro.

Why?
If club wants to play KHL, it needs money. Lada does not have them, Khimik does not have them. Vladivostok and Tyumen have.
Yes, Vladivostok does not have arena. That is a problem, but the same problem is with Donbass, Barys...
Some people would like to see Vladivostok in VHL as Donbass did. But, VHL is another league, you can not put potential KHL team here in every case. Now has VHL many clubs..
I know, fans at this forum would like to see european clubs in KHL, but Europe does not have money. Slovan does not have money as well, only 10-12 mil. euro it is not enough, they signed Skoula as best addition for next season!!! Lev Praha has money, that is fine, but Slovan? And other euro clubs as well.
I agree that arenas of Vityaz etc are problem, it will be solved. Maybe Vityaz to VHL, Sochi to KHL. Vladivostok is a long term project, for future of KHL. Maybe it is not clever to take Vladivostok this summer, better would be next year. On the other hand, Vladivostok in KHL is a matter of time. The same Sochi, Tyumen. And of course Vityaz, Yugra, Novokuznetsk leaving the league. Just matter of time.

Lev Poprad - club was abandoned, new club in Prague was established. Both clubs are NOT the same.
Vladivostok - it is great expansion for KHL, better than Lada. Vladivostok has money, that is important. Arena is problem, but can be solved.
European clubs - Do you guys realise that european clubs does not have money to join KHL? Swedes/Finns/Germans/Czechs - no money. Look at Slovan, 10-11 mil euro, Donbass over 20 mil euro, russian clubs more. KHL does not need weak euro clubs. Vladivostok, Tyumen have much more money. Club needs 15-20 mil euro for KHL now, and 30+ mil. euro in next 5 yrs. No chance to get these money in current european clubs.

I see these problems with prestige of KHL
1) media - why does russian media care about NHL? Why do they write about NHL so much? No mainstream media in Europe care so much about NHL as russian. You have KHL, but media care about NHL instead of developing KHL. NHL is so popular because of PR in media... why does not russian hockey servers/tv broadcasters/print newspapers give much more attention to KHL? I think results of NHL in euro media is enough, no details.
2) I remember article of Osadchenko. He wrote that age limits of MHL (5 guys of 21yrs) are bad. The hell, did he know that MHL wanted to recude it? Now, only 3 guys of this age, next season only 2 and then maybe nothing. That is professional of journalists, Osadchenko is pro-NHL/canadian. He did not understand what was happening in russian hockey a few yrs back. Maybe he knows it today, I like his show.
3) KHL needs to improve marketing.
4) Draft KHL is good thing but KHL and media does not know how to explain it to fans/players. I remember first draft when kids said "I am leaving to Canada". Wtf? Did they know how profi-players should communicate with media? Why did they blame KHL??? Nobody cares about their NHL dreams if playing KHL and beeing in their draft. Thanks God, kids learnt how to behave.
5) Larionov - cancer of russian hockey with his CHL policy.

Maybe you are right with Kurri, I did not know about friendship.
I dont think European Trophy is altenative project to KHL. It is only a pre-season tournament. Even swedish clubs dont care. Media does not care about ET in Slovakia and Czech rep, KHL is more interesting (especially in Slovakia). Fans dont care as well (compare attendance of Slovan in KHL - with more expensive tickets and in final of ET). ET is a dream, nothing serious. Swedes does not have power/diplomacy/money to compete with KHL. Yes, federations are against KHL (not slovak/czech/norwegian), but who cares? Money will solve everything, even Finns will join KHL, I believe it. Swedes dont, but KHL does not need swedish club, KHL needs just swedish players. Why is Stavanger interested in joining? KHL should support this idea. Great place for swedish players (because Norway is similar to Sweden - living conditions/distance from home)
Money is not problem in Germany. Yes, they say it is, but I dont believe it. Problem is that euro expansion was not tested before Slovan/Lev Praha (dont count Poprad). Now, we have another situation. I see another problem. Is KHL still intersted in Germans?

Of course, you can be right about Kurri. It is just my idea because I dont understand why he played for Gazprom, why attended SKA´s games.
I think that KHL gave up luring swedish club, but finnish in still "alive". Who knows? Germany is another interesting country, but I think it is half-dead project, or not?

finnish club - it is just my opinion, nothing serious. Medvedev said few times that some finnish club is interested. Kurri played for Gazprom Export in NY this year, he visited a few SKA games. Why? Why Kurri and not some slovak/czech/swedish/american hockey veteran? As I can understand situation, he can be used as person who will represent KHL´s interests in Finland, like Gerhard Schroeder did in Europe/Germany in case of Nord Stream. Gazprom knows how to do it. We will see.
