Ilya Bryzgalov: I was offered much better money in the KHL, but I didn’t buy into it

Philadelphia Flyers goalkeeper Ilya Bryzgalov revealed he could move to a KHL club this off-season, but opted for a stronger league instead of a better salary.

«Many players have returned to the KHL because they were offered higher contracts here. Weren’t you attracted by that?»

«No, I didn’t buy into that, though I was offered much better terms in the KHL during this off-season. I can’t tell you who it was – it’s a secret.»

«So, you really could be in the KHL this season?»

«There was an opportunity to return to Russia, I was really approached by some people. We did hold some negotiations. However, these were quite superficial,» Bryzgalov said to Sports Daily.
