Austrian Mario Fuchs to coach Russian national snowboard cross team

Denis Tikhomirov, head coach of the Russian national snowboard team, stated that Austrian coach Mario Fuchs took charge of the team.

«During the off-season we got thewell-known expert Mario Fuchs involved in the work with the team. He’s 35 years old. During the first half of the previous season he took part in the World Cup stages, but then decided to focus on his career as a coach. Mario’s record includes more than fifty starts, nine podium finishes, and three victories at World Cup stages, participation in three World Championships and two Olympic Games, where his best results were the sixth and the seventh place, respectively.

«In the national team Fuchs will be working together with Artur Zlobin, he will be responsible will for the skills training and the ‘ hill’ training. The Austrian signed a one-year contract. Whether he will go on working longer will be clear towards the end of the season,» Tikhomirov said as quoted by Ves Sport.
