Zenit director general Maxim Mitrofanov disclosed some details about the transfer of the Italian national team defender Domenico Criscito to the St. Petersburg club.
«In fact, Criscito cost Zenit €10 million. But the agreement between the clubs provided that bonuses should be paid under certain conditions. Actually, we targeted and followed Criscito long before the recent transfer window. Earlier during the negotiations the sums of €18m and €15m had been mentioned. Eventually, we agreed on €10 million,» Sport-Express quoted Mitrofanov as saying.
It’s worth noting that Criscito joined Zenit at the end of June signing a 5-year contract with St. Petersburg club. Genoa president Enrico Preziosi stated that Criscito’s transfer cost Zenit €11m.
