Rostovtsev appointed as Pichler’s assistant, Gerbulov takes over men’s team, Polkhovsky to be head coach

Today’s meeting of the Board of Russian Biathletes’ Union (SBR) approved all the coaches of the national team, reported Sports.ru editor Pavel Kopachev.

Valery Polkhovsky will be the head coach of the entire Russian national team. His predecessor Vladimir Barnashov will hold the position of the state coach for the national teams.

German coach Wolfgang Pichler was appointed senior coach of the Russian women’s national team. He will be assisted by Pavel Rostovtsev and Nikolay Zagursky. The men’s team coach will be Andrey Gerbulov, his assistants being Nikolay Lopukhov and Andrey Padin. Alexander Kurakin was appointed the senior coach of the national reserve team.

Thus, all the coaches of the national team have been changed.
