CSKA Number 1 Akinfeev resumes training after six months on the sidelines

CSKA Moscow and Russia goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev trained with the rest of the team on Sunday – his first full session since sustaining knee ligament damage in a clash with Spartak Moscow’s Welliton over six months ago.

According to Sport-Express, the player almost certainly won’t be fit to play against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, but he will fly to Spain with the rest of the team notwithstanding.

In February it was reported that the goalie started light individual training and today he participated in a training match, allegedly even making a number of trademark saves.
