Galatasaray make formal offer for Rubin’s Gokdeniz Karadeniz

Rubin Kazan midfielder Gokdeniz Karadeniz can return to Turkey, as one of the country’s powerhouses Galatasaray has approached the Russian club with an official offer on the player’s transfer. However, the midfielder is also likely to extend his contract with Rubin: the Russian team has already held talks with him and have reached general agreement on the new contract. This was revealed by the club’s president, Dmitry Samarenkin.

«When Gokdeniz was on vacation in Istanbul, he informed us that Galatasaray wanted to discuss the terms of a possible contract with him. We intend to keep Gokdeniz. I held preliminary talks with him before the game against Shamrock Rovers. In principle, we have agreed everything then, but decided to sign a new agreement after the Europa League against PAOK.»

«Galatasaray’s interest and our consent to them holding negotiations with a player that is under contract give an option to Gokdeniz whom I respect a lot and appreciate as a player and as a person. If he decides that he needs to move to Istanbul, Rubin will understand his decision.»
