Wolfgang Pichler: Swedish team was a family, Russian team is more like a factory

Russian national women’s team senior coach Wolfgang Pichler told about his work with the team and his approach to the training process.

«In Sweden, our team was a family, but the Russian national team is more like a factory. I’m proud with what I had achieved with the Swedish team: we had little money but a lot of medals,» Pichler said.

According to the coach, there were a lot of new things for the Russian team when he began his work, and his approach wasn’t always appreciated.

«However, it doesn’t matter if the athletes like the training process or not. We’ll see if this will work bears fruit at the end of the season,» Pichler said as quoted by Sveriges Radio.
