Strikeforce terminate contract with Fedor Emelianenko
Russian fighter Fedor Emelianenko will not take part in the bouts organized by the U.S.-based organization Strikeforce any more. Fedor’s contract was terminated after his third successive defeat at the hands of Dan Henderson, MMAWeekly.com reported.
Emelianenko has taken part in four fights at Strikeforce, having lost the last three of them.
It’s worth noting that a new contract for three fights between Emelianenko and Strikeforce (with the right of prolongation for one more fight) was signed this winter. After that Fedor took part in two bouts, losing to Antonio Silva in Strikeforce Grand Prix quarterfinal in February, being knocked out in the first round by Dan Henderson on July 30.
