David Dein: Arshavin will return to Arsenal

Former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein insisted that Russian midfielder Andrey Arshavin will return to London after his loan spell at Zenit ends.

«Arshavin will come back. He is a very talented player. He had a couple of decent seasons at Arsenal and was impressive for Zenit. He is a very, very nice lad,» Dein told Sport-Express.

The former Arsenal executive also commented on England’s failed bid to host the 2018 World Cup, which eventually went to Russia.

«I don’t know why our bid failed. We have the better infrastructure, better economic situation and our bid was the best. Our Prime Minister David Cameron and David Beckham presented it, we did the best we could, but we lost,» he admitted.
