Dick Advocaat: I never reveal my team’s squad until match day

Russia head coach Dick Advocaat refused to follow the example of his counterpart Giovanni Trapattoni who announced the squad of the Republic of Ireland for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier yesterday.

«With all due respect for the methods of Trapattoni, I believe that players must wait until the day of the match and until then I keep it in secret. The names will be announced at the team’s lunch. The idea is to have all the players ready for the game rather than just 11 people. As for the Ireland squad, we learned about their losses from the press.
