Winner of Lebedev – Toney fight to get interim WBA cruiserweight title

Interim WBA cruiserweight title will be at stake in the bou between Russia’s Denis Lebedev and American James Toney scheduled for November 4 in Moscow. This was revealed by Lebedev’s manager Vladimir Khryunov.

«This organization approached us on its own initiative,» Khryunov said to Izvestia. «We should thank for that to Alexander Povetkin. His fight and his victory in the superheavyweight category helped draw attention to us.»

The winner of the fight may then contend for the regular WBA cruiserweight title, currently held by Panamanian Guillermo Jones.
