Povetkin vs. Holyfield fight may take place in December

Alexander Povetkin’s WBA championship belt, which the Russian superheavyweight won this weekend in Erfurt, Germany, defeating Ruslan Chagaev, has arrived to Russia. The boxer meanwhile remains in Germany and will arrive in Moscow in a few days.

Povetkin’s team, including his manager Vladimir Khryunov, brother Vladimir Povetkin, friend and sparring partner Denis Lebedev, fitness trainer Andrey Kozlov, arrived in Russia last night.

Vladimir Khryunov refused to reveal the date of Alexander’s next fight, but admitted the bout against Evander Holyfield will be organized as soon as this December.

«Our goal is to fight Klichko, we are moving in this direction, but until then we expect to hold 2 or 3 bouts,» Khryunov said as quoted by Pro-Box.ru.
