Lokomotiv president: Freezing weather might force us to move the Athletic game to another city

Lokomotiv Moscow president Olga Smorodskaya conceded that the team’s forthcoming match against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League may be moved away from the Russian capital if weather conditions worsen.

«Is the Europa League match against Athletic going to be held at the Luzhniki stadium?»

«I suppose so, but the final decision will be based on the weather forecast. There is a chance that the game will be held in another city. If it is too cold, UEFA might decide to move the game to another area.»

«And what is the forecast for the 16th of February?»

«I am sceptical about such predictions, but, apparently, it will be freezing. Temperatures could fall below 28 centigrade during night-time, which makes it impossible to hold a game of football,» said the club chairwoman in an interview to Sovetsky sport.
