Ewerthon: I’ve seen Terek coach hit a player in the face

Brazilian forward Henrique Ewerthon, who terminated his contract with Terek Grozny in the early 2012, has revealed the reasons for his departure from the club.

«At Terek, I’ve seen some unexpected things that I couldn’t accept. Thus I had to ask the club to release me. For instance, I saw our coach hit one of the players in the face. One day the chairman of Terek entered the locker room and claimed that only Chechen players should be on the pitch. What could I do?»

«Sure, it was an interesting experience, but, looking from the professional point of view, things didn’t go the way I expected them to. Thanks to all those who were there with me, but there were things I didn’t like.»

«Generally, football is on the rise in Russia. Top clubs buy a lot of players and spend big, because Russia will host the 2018 World Cup. Anzhi Makhachkala are among them,» Ewerthon said as quoted by Globo Esporte.
