As Sports.ru reported three weeks ago, former physiotherapist of the Russian national team Arno Philips has signed a contract with Anzhi.
At the Makhachkala-based club Philips will be in charge of individual work with the players during their period of recovery after injuries, according to the club’s official website.
Arno Philips, a long-term assistant to Guus Hiddink, has worked at Ajax, PSV, South Korea and Australia national teams, and Schalke 04. He has been working with the Russian national team from autumn 2006 to 2010, after which he joined the Turkey national team staff together with Hiddink.
CSKA Moscow and Dynamo Moscow are also thought to have been interested in signing Philips.
Together with Philips, Anzhi have also signed another Dutch fitness coach Chima Onyeike, former striker for Haarlem, Dordrecht, Excelsior, VVV-Venlo, TOP Oss, and Cambuur.
