What I really don’t understand is these Russian speaking ’’opressed’’ minorities here in Latvia, if you don’t like something, why the hell wouldn’t you leave?? I don’t want you, plenty of Latvians don’t want you. Putin is giving you money to relocate to Russia and get a job, so why don’t you use that opportunity instead of staying here and spreading unreasonable hate, propaganda and filling up our prisons, 3/4 of which are comprised of non-ethnic Latvians...
I don’t hate you as a kind, I’m friends with plenty of Latvian Russians who have good jobs, who know in which country they live, who celebrate Latvian holidays and can hold a conversation about Dostoyevsky or Pushkin both in Russian and Latvian languages. What I don’t understand is these marginal elements that have stayed here even though obviously you hate this country.... Why????

Sorry, but this is a load of bullshit. I’m a Latvian and:
1) LTV7 never said that there was something wrong with Tretyakov’s win, this is a provocation of Russian version of delfi.lv internet portal, yet another attempt to spread hate among Latvians and Russians. There certainly were some guys in front of tv drinking beer that have said that this might have happen, but nothing that was stated on TV station.
2) A lot of comments on this page is just hate based and have nothing to do with skeleton at the Olympics.
As for Dukurs... Dukurs is a gentleman, he even wanted to give a medal to his brother Tomass that was 4th in his second Olympics in the row, his only problem here was that it was a Russian track and Tretyakov had plenty more opportunities to practice and learn it by heart (the same about Zubkov in bobsleigh). Tretyakov got a deserved win on his home ice.
Sure some people are disappointed, but as I said- it was never officially stated by TV station, sports officials etc. It’s just some people’s comments on the internet and in many cases of the same people who if had a choice to have a million dollars or an atomic bomb dropped on Moscow, would choose atomic bomb....
