Alexander Ovechkin: If I wasn’t selected for the All-Star game, I’d have had a Miami vacation

Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin has shared his opinion on the upcoming NHL All-Star game.

«I have no trouble taking part in the game. Sure, I’d like to have a rest... However, I’ll spend some great time with other players at the All-Star event. So I’m happy.»

«If I wasn’t selected to play, I’d have had a vacation. Especially as a friend of mine came to visit me in Washington some days ago. But now I’ll go to Ottawa.»

«I’m a bit surprised that Kovalchuk will miss the game. It’s a pity that such a quality player hasn’t been selected. However, it’s not up to me to decide. Kovalchuk wasn’t disappointed, Ithink. Now he’ll spend time with his family in Florida,» Ovechkin said as quoted by Sovetsky Sport.

Ovechkin earned his sixth All-Star selection of his career, matching the record for a Russian player.
