Video of Mirasty and Yablonski fighting at a wedding in Magnitogorsk emerges on YouTube

Canadian tough guys of KHL’s Vityaz Chekhov Jon Mirasty and Jeremy Yablonski were videotaped quarreling with and then fighting a group of local men in Russia. The video, which appeared on YouTube, is believed to be filmed in August or September 2011 in Magnitogorsk, near a local cafe. Several men, supposedly intoxicated during a wedding celebration, started picking on the hockey players. Eventually, a fight broke out, in which Mirasty and Yablonski emerged as victors.

Vityaz general manager Alexey Zhamnov said the club will investigate the case. «We’ll find out what had happened and watch the video. We should talk to the players. As of now I can’t comment on anything. I knew there had been some sort of incident. As far as I understand, it happened back in the summer. Many people have called me saying it was obvious that our players had been provoked. But I really can’t state anything based on some rumors,» Zhamnov said as quoted by RIA Novosti.

Jon Mirasty confirmed it was him on the video. «I haven’t seen it. Am I also there? Maybe it was some other Mirasty? (laughs) I won’t comment on it. I can only say that it really happened in the summer, in Magnitogorsk,» he stated in an interview to Sovetsky sport.
