Alexander Medvedev: KHL integration in European hockey is irreversible

The KHL head Alexander Medvedev said that the league is somehow being integrated into European hockey. He stated this during the joint press-conference with Milan president Ico Migliore.

«Teams from Russia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and, from the next season, Slovakia play in the KHL, so the process of integrating the league into Europe is irreversible.

«You know, before deciding to run the process of preparing the Italian club to be included in the KHL, we conducted some market researches. In one of them, we asked ten thousands girls from St. Petersburg if hockey players or football players are better. More than 90% chose hockey. The reason is mentioned in a famous Russian song: «Coward does not play hockey.»

«I am sure that this project will help develop hockey in Italy. I hope very much Milan will join KHL already in 2012,» stated Medvedev as quoted by Allhockey.ru.
