Lokomotiv president: Hiddink didn’t come to Anzhi just for the cash
Lokomotiv Moscow president Olga Smorodskaya shared her thoughts on Guus Hiddink’s appointment as head coach of Anzhi Makhachkala.
«He is a wonderful manager – he has proven himself during his term as the Russian national team coach, leading them to bronze at the Euro 2008.»
«Do you think he only agreed to take over Anzhi for the money?»
«No, I don’t think so. He has a God-given ability to coach, so he has to be interested in the project.»
«When you were looking for a manager, before [current head coach of Lokomotiv] Couceiro, you considered other foreigners…»
«We went over some of the famous coaches, but with some of them we didn’t get to the negotiating table. It is hard to know for sure, who will be best suited to your club.»
«Do you think you made the right choice?»
«I believe so. We are still fighting for different trophies, competing well,» Smorodskaya told the radio station City.fm.
